What's available for kids and parents at the Pottsville Free Public Library?

 
            
                                                                     

 

Fall programs and events are going on! Call us at 570-622-8880 ext. 12 or send us an email at potchild@pottsvillelibrary.org with your child's name, age, contact phone number and the name of the program you're signing up for. There is no charge for any of the programs we offer at the library.

  What We Offer

      The Children's Department hosts a variety of programs for toddlers through teens. 

         Early Literacy

        Story Time                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
        Ages 12 months-5 years
        Mondays at 10:30am   
        Come celebrate children and books as we read stories, sing songs, act out rhymes and do fun crafts with a different theme each week!
        We offer story times for children ages 18 months-5 years. Siblings are welcome. Please register.
 
          School Age

        Girls Who Code
        Ages 8-11; 12-18
        Mondays 4:30-5:30pm
        Learn all about computer coding, step by step, with games, Stem Activities and hands-on experience. Please register.   


         
Young Adult

Teen Advisory Board 
Ages 12-17 
1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month. 6:00pm.
Join us and have a say in what books, CDs, and movies we provide at the library as well as special activities. Please register.

Computer Assistance

Need a computer to finish your homework or just feel like surfing the web? Then come to the library! We have  computers available for use in the Children's Department and the Children's Librarian is happy to provide computer assistance. Computers may be used for one hour. Time can be extended if there is no one else waiting for a turn. Preschool children need to have an adult or caregiver with them to use a computer. 

Class Visits to the Library

The Children's Department at the Pottsville Free Public Library welcomes class visits. We host programs for  local daycares, schools, girl and cub scout troops and after school programs. If getting your group to the library is a problem, call us and maybe we can come to you! Just contact the Children's Department at 570-622-8880 ext. 12 to arrange a visit.
