Online Resources at the Pottsville Library


The Pottsville Free Public Library makes many databases available to our patrons from their home computers.  When prompted for a password, type in your Pottsville Library card number, located above the barcode.  Have questions or problems?  Contact us via email or call the library at (570) 622-8880.  For updates, follow our Teen Advisory Board Facebook or Pottsville Library Facebook pages.

Salem Press logo-- Select "Library Card Number" then type in your card number to sign in and use these reference books. Subjects include literature, lives and events in world history, science, and health. (Note that these are not downloadable ebooks; you must maintain an Internet connection with this site in order to use the material.)

Infobase Ebooks -- Use your library card to access these reference books from home! Subjects include U.S. and world history, science experiments, geography, and health. (Note that these are not downloadable ebooks; you must maintain an Internet connection with this site in order to use the material.)

 Britannica eBooks - Button Britannica Ebooks --  Subjects include ancient civilizations, US history, American Indians, energy/fuels, scientists, social sciences, biotechnology, and the human body/health. (Note that these are not downloadable ebooks; you must maintain an Internet connection with this site in order to use the material.)

Free Library of Philadelphia Free Library of Philadelphia -- Click on "Get a Library Card" to register as an Access Pennsylvania user and get a library card for the Free Library online. They will mail out your new library card, and then you can download ebooks from Philadelphia. 

Free Ebooks -- Sources for free ebooks for everyone, as well as a list of Schuylkill County libraries that offer ebooks to their library cardholders. Additional sources for free and for-purchase ebooks are also listed from the Library's Subject Guide page

Statewide Virtual Reference Service   -- Librarians available 24 hours a day to answer your questions.

  POWER Library -- Many different resources for everyone from elementary school students to adults.

Subject Guide to the Internet -- Collection of good sites identified by Pottsville's reference librarians.

Genealogy and local history materials -- detailed list of what's in our collection and what services we provide.
