Using your library CARD...


What can be borrowed


Adult and juvenile fiction and non-fiction books, books on CD (audiobooks), and educational toys may be borrowed for a 3 week period. There is a limit of five audiobooks per card.  

EBooks and eAudiobooks are available through Pottsville Library's Axis360 service. Up to 3 eBooks or eAudiobooks may be borrowed at one time, for up to 3 weeks.

Compact discs may be borrowed for two weeks.   There is a limit of five compact discs per card.

Periodicals (except the latest issue of a magazine) and pamphlets may be borrowed for one week. The Library subscribes to approximately 100 periodicals.

DVDs may be borrowed for one week. There is a limit of five DVD titles total per card.

Videocassettes may be borrowed for one week.

Video games for various consoles may be borrowed for one week. There is a limit of 2 video games per card.

Holiday materials may be borrowed for one week during the holiday season.

The Library has Kindle Fire tablets available for loan. They may be borrowed for 3 weeks.

Hotspots are available for loan for a fee. They may be borrowed for 2 weeks for $20.

STEM and other kits are available for loan for various loan periods.


Renewals
Items may be renewed by coming into the library or calling the Circulation Desk at (570) 622-8880.  You may also renew through the online catalog.  Go to "My Account" and type in your barcode number from your borrower's card and the last four digits of your telephone number.   Items may not be renewed more than three times.

DVDs, electronic games, tablets, hotspots, and any item which is on reserve for another patron may not be renewed.


Reserves
If an item is out in circulation, it may be reserved and you will be called when it is returned. If there are other reserves on an item, your name will be placed on the waiting list and you will be called when your turn comes.  You may also place a reserve through the online catalog,  using your barcode number from your borrower's card.  The circulation staff will check for reserves first thing in the morning. DVDs, electronic games, tablets, and hotspots may not be reserved.


Patron suggestions
If there is a new item you would like the Library to consider adding to its collection, please request and complete a "Patron Suggestion" form from the Circulation Desk, or email the Circulation Desk at potcirc@pottsvillelibrary.org.


Fines
Books, kits, educational toys - $.25 a day up to a maximum of $10.00.
Books on CD, best sellers, videocassettes, compact discs - $.50 a day to maximum of $10.00
Interlibrary loan material - $.50 a day to maximum of $10.00, plus possible additional fines and fees if charged by the loaning library.
DVDs and electronic games - $2.00 a day up to a maximum of $10.00.
Tablets - $5.00 a day up to a maximum of $25.00

Any item not returned will incur replacement costs in addition to fines.


Lost cards
A replacement for a lost card can be purchased for $1.00.
